need to send e-mail to about 4000 addresses.

Hi,
I am using Outlook 2003.
I have a word file with about 4000 email addresses seperated by ';'
I am trying to send email to all those addresses by copying and pasting them
in Bcc. But the message stays in the outbox only.
I have a 20MB mailbox. I am not sure the problem is with my mailbox size or
some other.
Please give me the procedure of doing this.
Thanks.
Kiran Mandava.

I think that 4000 entries in the BCC box may be pushing the limits a
little<g>

Plus, most smtp servers will restrict the numbers of recipients per message.

You need to use some form of mailing list software instead of Outlook

Open Outlook, click Help and search for "mail merge".

Thanks John for the reply.
Can you suggest me some mailing list software which is a freeware or has a
trial version.
Thanks.
Kiran Mandava.

The problem probably lies with your ISP who may set limits on the number of
recipients for a single mail item - they usually do this to help deter spam.
Talk to your ISP.
