Need to install XP SP2

I had a system crash and had to restore my Win XP Home with the
original install CD. After I got everything going Automatic Update
started "updating" my system. It got to patches that wouldn't install.

My system was XP SP2 and I was using Microsoft Update for Windows and
Office to keep it automatically updated. I checked my system now and
it is SP1. Any effort I make to update on Windows Update takes me to
Microsoft Update. On Microsoft Update I get script errors on the
initial page. When I clear the error (either way) the page with the
option to go Express or ??? (do it yourself) comes up with another
script error. When I clear that (either way) Internet Explorer
crashes.

Can I get SP2 from someplace safe, other than the Update sites? I
figure if I install SP2 I'll be OK?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

One option is to download the SP2 package and install it. Also you can
create an installation CD using your current CD and the SP2 download to
make an installation CD slipstreamed with SP2. A third option is order
the SP2 CD.

Download Windows Service Pack 2 Standalone Version

Order Windows XP Service Pack 2 on CD
