I have a network at home with a web cam. My ISP keeps changing my
external IP address. I am looking for a way to locate my external IP
address from a script so I can automate it.

I know there are several websites out there that will tell you want
your external IP address is, but does any one know of a way to
automate this?

Thanks,

Yes... do a Google search with the terms DYNAMIC DNS. Sign up with one of
these companies and you get a DNS entry and you can always access your web
cam with a URL.

I am making the assumption you do not care what your IP address is at any
given moment, you just want reliable access.

You might also check your terms of service to see if running a web cam
server may violate your terms of service.
