I converted a Word 97 and Access 97 to 2003. My merge file is an Access 2003
query. Each time I opne the converted word file it has me to convert and
saves the database under a new name. How can I stop having to convert each
time I open the file? I want it to become and stay a 2003 word and Access
file. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you,
Linda

You can open a Microsoft Access database created in Access 97 or earlier
without converting it.

Make sure that the Access database you're going to enable is closed. If the
file is a multiuser Access database located on a server or in a shared
folder, make sure that no one else has it open.

Click Open on the Database toolbar.

In the Open dialog box, click the previous-version Access database you want
to enable and click Open.
-> In the Convert/Open Database dialog box, click Open Database. <-

Microsoft Access enables the previous-version database by storing additional
information in the file to accommodate the default file format specified on
the Advanced tab of the Options dialog box. An enabled database can still be
opened with its original version of Microsoft Access.

Thank you,
I wasn't saving the file before I completed the merge so it did not retain
the new merge db.
Thank you,
Linda
