Need some help!!

I've got an old computer that has more memory on it than this one I'm
currently using, and I think it may have a better processor from what I've
looked at. I want to take the memory and processor out of the old one and
stick it into this one. BUT this computer I'm currently using has Windows
2000 and the other has Windows 98 on it. If i were to switch it to this
computer, would Windows 98 be put onto this one? And could in fact the
processor be put into this one or not?

If you just swap the motherboard, then it will still have 2000. You will only
keep the 98 if you swap the hard drive.

As for whether or not you actually CAN swap them, depends on the case.
Motherboards have changed a bit over the last few years. If the old one is
more than 5 years old, you may want to find someone that does some hardware
work and have them take a look at it before you start yanking things out. If
you aren't very good with hardware, you may want to make friends with someone
that is willing to teach.

hardware or operating systems. BHawkins' answer seems correct to me, but you
may want/need more detail.
