I'm trying to reformat and install my moms pc and I've already installed xp
but for some reason it didn't install drivers for the integrated network
adapter or sound card.

I tried going to add/remove hardware and searching the windows xp install cd
for drivers for the network card but it didn't find anything. So, I just
need a generic driver I can download and bring over on a usb flash drive so
I can finish setting this up and downloading updates etc.

Thanks.

you should be able to get the drivers from the website of the
manufacturer(s)

I use this site:-

It takes a while to find exactly what you want but eventually you'll get it
by searching and browsing. You can always download a driver and if it
doesn't work roll-it back or uninstall then try another. Manufacturers do
also have generic drivers which will give you the basic functions.

I tried downloading from the mfg's website but it's still not working.

You need to do more than download the drivers...
you need to install them also...

the devices are probably already in "hardware magager"
with yellow exclaimations...
you need to then "update" those drivers...

If you dont have the drivers CD or the motherboard CD that has the built
in card drivers on it then you have to find out what type of sound/nic
you have and then find the drivers for it and they wont be on your XP
cd.

Wow phil, you're hilaroius.

Anyways, turns out I needed to download some chipset drivers before it would
work.
