need serious help here

when i start my computer i cannot get to desktop and when i try to use cd-rom
or floppy disk it doesn't work either. can someone please let me know what i
can do to fix this. or if i need to buy a new one.

After the next reboot, keep tapping the F8 key to see if you can access a
screen that has 'Last Known Good Configuration' as an option - try that.
