how to actually use sytem recovery console?

hi all,

I have the windows xp cd, but no floppy, and no working floppy drive.
When I press F2 to go into system recovery console, it wants me to
insert a floppy into the A drive.

Who even uses floppy disks any more? I know what I need to do,
why should I have to figure out how to make a floppy disk, and go
buy a floppy drive ,to do this? I shouldn't have to. I wouldn;t know
how to make an additional special recovery disk anyway.

Does anyone know how I can do this?

If I simply wait until the install process tells me to press
capital R for repair ,it doesn't do any good either.

to boot to the repair console
or
to perform a repair install
you simply boot from your XP cd...
do not hit F2

Google for exact instructions on whatever it is you are trying to achieve
