With my old computer, I easily backed up my Quicken files on a floppy.
Insert>Copy>Done!!! I now have a new Dell with no Floppy Drive. I follow
the instructions on how to backup to CD-RW. The instructions are basically
the same, except I have to choose E Drive, {that's the location of my CD
burner}. When I attempt to do this operation, I get a message that says,
"Unable to access the disk in Drive E". Whatever option I choose next, I Get
the message: "Unable to write to Drive".

Thanks for any help, or a better NG to post to.

Bruce.

In order to backup to a CD-RW using Quicken, you need to have the
CD-RW formatted for UDF writing which can be done by almost any CD
writing application such as Direct CD(part of Easy CD Creator), InCd
(part of Nero), DLA (part of the Stomp product whose name escapes me).

Anorther totally different option is to do the backup to a USB
thumb drive (which is what I do).

Jerry

BTW: DirectCD has been renamed to Drag to CD, starting with Easy CD/DVD
Creator 6.
