Need original display List back

When I right click on the desktop/Properties/Desktop/under Background
the original list is changed.....now all my pics are here interspersed
with some of the old list. What should I do to get the old short list
back ? Have tried different themes with no success....pics remain!!
Would appreciate some feedback as to what I can do.
Win XP SP2
Dell Dim 8400
Pentium 4 3.4 ghz
OE 6
Norton Inter. Sec. ( scan weekly)
Ad -Aware, Spy Bot, Shredder, Win Defender (run weekly) J.

The picture of background is store in C:\Documents and Settings\%user
profile%\My Documents\My Pictures

You can't get back you old short list it maybe you have move/add some
of your picture in the "My Pictures"

I suggest that you move all you picture you want to display in the
shortlist into C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My
Pictures\Sample Pictures
or
Delete the "Sample Pictures" that under C:\Documents and Settings\
%user profile%\My Documents\My Pictures

The image of background is store in c:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper. The
backgroup list also will include the background in use that you select
via the "Browse" button.
I suggest that you move all you picture you want to display in the
shortlist into c:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper

Windows XP gets the image files from the following paths:

BMP Files from C:\WINDOWS

BMP, JPG, GIF, JPE, DIB, PNG, HTM files from the following locations:

C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER NAME>\My Documents\My Pictures [& ALL THE
SUB-FOLDERS]
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER NAME>\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer
C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes [*** & ALL THE

So move the files you don't want out of those paths.
