need hotfix for read only error

We have several new XP computers running on a network
with a Windows 2000 file server. A few of them have the
problem described in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article -
328170. Sometimes when we access files on the server,
they either open as "Read Only", or they open normally,
but after we modify them and try to save we get the "Read
Only" error message or "Access Denied" error message.
The work around has helped on all but one of the
computers. We would like to try the Hotfix mentioned in
the article, but cannot find it. Help!

"RESOLUTION
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this fix.

To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix. For a complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services phone numbers and information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;CNTACTMS

NOTE: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The typical support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question."

As in the article CONTACT MICROSOFT. That is where the fix is.

Thanks for your 2¢ Jeff.

I did read the article and did try to contact Microsoft.
They had four options - the first, online, left me with
a "Contact your OEM" message, which I did with no luck.
Second, I tried to call, several times and their tech
support number is busy. The third option was paid support
for $99 and I don't think we should have to pay for
support for a known problem on a brand new computer.
Their fourth suggestion was to post a message on this
board which I have done.

Does anyone know where I can get this "Hotfix" without
having to give up my credit card number?
