Need help with Windows XP

I just installed Windows XP yesterday it ran perfect but
i tried installing a sound card and i never got an option
as having a device so i took the card out and tried to
message a friend on yahoo messenger and i got yahoo
messenger has encountered a problem and has to close . i
also have Star Wars Galaxies installed which worked
perfectly fine till today and it says the same screen how
do i fix this i just spent over 1000 dollars to get this
pc hooked up and it worked fine yesterday except the
integrated sound didnt work can someone please help me

Pause for breath. Did you not check that your sound card was supported by XP
(and downloaded drivers for it if neccesary) BEFORE you installed it? What
about the original sound card? Did that work? If so have you tried putting
it back in?
