need help with Window XP SP1

I was trying to start over and now I can't seem to use my CD that came with
the computer about 3 years ago. I really need to start fresh since I've
been having problems with the computer running really slow and all. Can
anyone get me any suggestions?? I surely appreciate it.

That suggests your Windows XP is OEM.
Check your manual and/or contact the computer manufacturer for
reinstallation information.
OEMS do it differently and the manufacturer of your computer know what
the procedure is.

Typically you set the BIOS boot order so the CD/DVD drive is a boot
device before the hard drive.

Then you insert your media and reboot the computer .
Follow prompts and your computer will be as shipped typically in 30 -
60 minutes.

WARNING: Depending on how the manufacturer set it up, all data may be
destroyed in the process.
Back-up all important data before starting.

reinstalling the system. Have you run complete scans of the PC with up to
date anti virus and malware programs? Have you dumped unnecessary files to
create more free space on the drive? Have you defragged the hard drive? Do
you have too many programs starting at boot and competing for resources?

What speed CPU, how much ram, how much free space on the C: partition and
what specifically is running slow? Do you need help doing any of the things
listed above?

I've talked to them and they are suppose to send me another restore CDS.
Yes, my OEM is XP. I've put the CD in and reboot it. It stated that there
was some problems with it. It kept reading error like if there was
something wrong with the CD.

drive doesn't work, it won't read one of my CD (this one have 2). I have
almost more then half of harddrive free. It was working fine up til
Thursday. I have too many Malware and Adware. I have downloaded the
Anti-virus from the internet provider and all kind of stuff kept popping up.
It's aggravated.

If the AV program is getting all kinds of hits, your PC is probably loaded
with malware also and you will need a program such as Spybot to get rid of
that crap. Keep running scans with the AV and Spybot until both programs
report the PC is clean. You may find that this will get your PC up to speed
without formatting the drive, reinstalling the system and then installing
your software. A simple repair installation will NOT fix problems with
virus, Trojans, malware, etc.

I know that reinstall my program will not keep the virus from entering the
computer nor it will fix anything. There are alot of junk I want to get rid
of anyway. I didn't know that once you download spybot and after you scan
it, it still cost you something to delete the virus. I wish it would say
that before I download the software that it'll cost something.

freeware)

why is my hardware not showing in the Device Manager?? I can't even use my
USB drive.
