Need help with not booting up

Can someone tell me what the various POST sounds mean. My son's Windows XP
Pro system makes long beeping sounds, no video display, and will not boot -
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jim,

It sort of depends on how many Beeps (and how long) and also on who makes
the BIOS,
