Need help with a WiFi connection

James

My system is Windows XP Pro, Service Pack3, RAM I.00 GB, Processor
Speed1.50 GHz-on a Dell Latitude D800, with a WiFi conn. Anymore it
will lose connection when I play a video-it didn't used to do that,
what about the laptop could I check or configure to strengthen my WiFi
connection? Your help in solving this problem is appreciated very
much.

The stength of your wifi connection is a hardware and hardware placement
issue - although sometimes updated software can help in maintaining a
connnection (better negotiation/failure algorithms, etc) - the strength is
hardware.

Given what you have - is the machine docked at the time (docked and monitor
closed) or is it open and actually being used as a laptop/not as a desktop
replacement? The reason I ask is on many laptops the antenna wire is ran
around the edge of the monitor - so when a laptock is docked and monitor
closed - the antenna will not pick up as much signal as when it is open and
being used in that way.

With the age of the system - it is also possible you boought external
wireless device - you could even be talking about cellular wireless for all
I know and not 802.11 a/b/g/n...

So please clarify your meaning, verify you have the latest drivers for the
hardware installed (and other software as well - especially true if it is an
802.11 a/b/g/n type *Intel* wireless device.) and everything else is up to
date/clear of malware and other things.
