need help w/ custom built pc

I just installed a fresh copy of windows xp professional. It’s a
custom built
pc, so I’m starting with fresh new hardware here.

Heres the stats:

Processor – AMD XP 2600+
Hard Drive – Maxtor 120GB
Video Card – ATI Raedon 9600XT
Sound Card – Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS
LG CD/DVD Burner
DVD Drive – Standard DVD/CD Playback
Memory – 1GB Corsair Dual Channel
Mother Board – Abit NF7-S2
Power Supply – Demon 480W Dual Fan ATX


Anyways, I install windows xp professinal and all is well. Theres just

problems:

1) I can’t edit any user info. i cant create new users, delete or
edit my password and picture, turn the guest account on or off, or
make new
users. I always get an error message.

2) I only have access to some internet
sites. I can get onto msn.com and google.com, but when I try to go to
yahoo.com or microsoft.com I get an error message with 2 buttons. A
"Don’t
Send Error Report" and "Send Error Report"

the system cost me a good $1,300 so if anyone can help me to get this
running right it will help me out alot, plus i’ll need it for
college comming up.

You can,install xp cd,exit the info page,go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:
VERIFY ON Then type:Sfc /Scannow When its thru type:CHKDSK C: /F
Agree to restart,then type:EXIT Restart computer,remove cd.
