After installing all drivers on the Motherboards CD I install the
Integrated 10/100 Ethernet Controller. Only it says there was a
problem and the device cannot start because of a Code 10. Ive tried
uninstalling and reinstalling from the CD and enabling and disabiling
from the device manager, The only progress I have made is activating
the Microsoft Lookback Adapter? and that says it has a Local area
connection is at 10 mbps though internet explorer isnt bringing up a
page.

I have no idea why the Ethernet controller wont start after installing
the drivers? Anyone have any ideas?

Im running Windows XP on a fresh ECS 755-A2 Motherboard.

reset configuration data to 'enable' in the bios or
reset cmos to defaults via jumper.
usually a code 10 is 'no IRQ' problem.

Are you sure the ethernet adapter is enabled in the bios? I kust set
up one of these boards for a friend of mine and I didn't have any problem.

Me too! I just installed that board and it works like a charm.

If the PC is on check that the lights on your modem and/or router for
that connection are lit. That shows your adapter physical
connection is working.

If there are no lights then you need to make sure the BIOS enabled the
adapter as some mentioned.

If the NIC is enabled in bios and your connection lights are lit then
it's a WinXP problem. Since you've installed the drivers, I'd go into
Control Panel, hardware settings, Device Manager and scroll down to
networks and delete any ethernet adapter that is not SIS900 PCI Fast
Ethernet . Not ethernet controllers just network adapters. Reboot the
PC and XP should find the new hardware then install the driver again if
necessary.

The driver for that integrated controller should have installed
automatically during the chipset install. Sounds like you tried
to install another .. wrong .. driver, and that is conflicting with
the automatic driver install. Delete every single network card
you can find, and reboot. That should install the correct
hardware and driver.
