Need help regarding internet explorer browser

Hai,
I am using windows XP and my internet explorer was working
fine untill recently when some strange search tool bar was
popping at the bottom. I tried to uninstall that and it
somehow seems to have damaged authentification
certificates. Later i tried to restore them by following
online instructions but nothing worked out. Now my internet
explorer is not working. When tried to reinstall afresh, i
am getting a message stating windows logo test is required.
I am unable to rectify this error. Therefore i request you
to kindly suggest me how to reinstall internet explorer
without formating my system.
