Greetings! When I start my computer, the date and day function reverts to
December 1999. The Startup screen shows two message - [a] Error 0271 - Check
date and time settings Warning - System CMOS checksum bad - Default
configuration used.

I am also given the option to use F1 or F10. I have used F10 to change the
day and date and pressed F-10 again to save the settings. It works for one
session. But when I restart the computer again, the computer goes back to
Dec 1999 date.

What shall I do? With thanks in advance.

Replace the CMOS battery on the motherboard ( usually about the size of a
quarter )
