date and time not working

Each time I start up my pc I get an error message saying: Warning 0271 Check date and time; and Warning 0251 System CMOS checksum bad - default configured
I go to control panel to apply the correct date and time and yet, i still get the error, and the date & time is not corrected. Any ideas?

describes your problems there.
