Need help -cpu question

H

huh

I have an ASROCK K7S8X motherboard atx form factor with a AMD3000+
processor. All fine until recently now the bios and device manager see's
the chip as a 1700+. It reverts back sometimes but currently reading 1700+
all the rime. AMD software reads it as 1700+ also. No bios upadates
available(old board), could it be the power supply? Or any other
suggestions, the clock shows the correct time so its not the cmos battery.
Help appreciated.

Check FSB. If the CMOS has a problem, it sets defaults or Safe settings.
