Would really appreciate if someone could help me with a problem with
my computer. I am a novice computer user and cannot seem to solve this
problem. The problem started when i tried to install a router so that
i can hook up another computer (#2) in the other room. Now compter #2
works fine but computer #1 cannot access the internet. I can send
about 60 packets but cannot receive any.
These are the things that I have tried doing:
1. Connected the LAN cable directly to the computer #1 but the same
problem exist.
2. I have also tried to repair windows with the CD. Still same
problem!!!

Are there any suggestions from anyone who can help me with my problem?
Once again, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

System Info: OS --> Win 2000 Professional, No Firewall, Realtek
Ethernet Card , Browser Opera 7.

Hi Carey,
Thanks for your response. I tried running ispfix and winsocfix but I
cant' seem to fix the problem.
I think i may have deleted some vital files as I was using AdAware and
SpyBot to clean up the computer.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Did those programs say they completed successfully? Are both of these PCs
running Windows XP?

Sorry for posting in the wrong newsgroup. Can anyone suggest the best
group to post this question? There are just too many out there.

Okay, back to the problem,
Both machines run on win2000..'
When I ran winsockfix, i get this message -->"Repair complete, Please
reboot"
When I ran LSPfix, i get these messages
"KEEP"
rnr20.dll - Tcpip
winrnr.dll - NTDS
nwprovau.dll - NWLink IPX/SPX/Netbios
rmsafd.dll - (Protocol Handler)
rsvpsp.dll - (Protocol Handler)

"REMOVE" --> Blank
When i clicked finish, i get this message
"Repair complete
0 name space provider entries removed
0 name space provider entries removed
0 protocol provider entries removed
0 protocol provider entries renumbered"

Regards, Dzee

Thanks for the advise, Chuck. I am a bit smarter now.
