Need Domain and Peer-To-Peer

S

SAC

I have a notebook running 2000 and I need to login to a Domain server at one
location and be on a peer-to-peer network at another location.

How can I do this?

Thanks.

Ye know not what ye ask....

A network is part of the environment that makes up a machine's
configuration. You can't move it from one environment to another with out
changing things. Their are other third-party tools that can help smooth it
out, like www.netswitcher.com

IF you have a local user account on the notebook, the account is a member of
the local administrators group, and you know the user name and password of a
domain user account which has the right to create a computer account and
join a computer to the domain; Then you can alternately join the domain and
the workgroup at each location:

Right click My Computer and select Properties. Click the Network
Identification tab and the Properties button. You will have to reboot.

Do not guess about this - make sure you have a local user acount and you
know the password before you try this.

Simple. Log into the domain with cached credentials, even when on the
network where the workgroup is - then access resources on workgroup PCs by
using the appropriate credentials.

net use x: \\computername\share /user:computername/localusername <enter>

No third party software needed - and you keep your windows profile the same
all the time.

Check-out "Plug and Browse" at www.interactive-studios.net. It allows
you to store multiple network configurations and switch between them
as needed. The program can store network connection settings, computer
name and domain, Internet Explorer, etc.
