Need CD DVD copy verify freeware??

I apologize but I' am unsure of which newsgroup to post to. I' am looking for a CD, DVD copy,
verifying stand alone software hopefully freeware. We use Nero to copy and write which works fine
but doesn't have a true compare or verify segment. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Nero has had a 'Verify Compilation' for many versions, and with version 7
(I think) Nero had an added feature to verify images burned a well.

I prefer DVDSig.exe, from
http://www.ozemail.com.au/~nulifetv/freezip/freeware/index.html.

First, create a folder with everything you are going to write to CD/DVD.
Add DVDSig.exe to the folder. Run DVDsig from that folder and choose SCAN,
which will create a file named DVDSig.MD5, containing a list of files and
their MD5 signatures. Write the folder CONTENTS to your CD/DVD. To verify,
from the CD/DVD, run DVDSig.exe and choose VERIFY. Depending on your
hardware speed, it can verify all the files on a full DVD in under 5
minutes. The nice thing with having DVDSig.exe and DVDSig.Md5 on the CD/DVD
is -- a year after you create the CD/DVD, you can verify that all files are
still valid.

Three possible problems to keep in mind:
1) Empty files (zero byte files) are reported as errors during the scan and
are not included in the .MD5 file, so their existence or absence is not
verified.
2) Folders are not specifically listed in the MD5 file; the full relative
path of non-zero byte files is included in the .MD5 file. So the existence
or absense of empty folders is not verified.
3) With the new versions of Windows, Unicode files names are possible, but,
in the US, not often present. DVDSig.exe currently does not handle Unicode
well.

I thank you all for your suggestions. But apparently my original request was poorly stated. What
we are looking for is a DVD CD, standalone disk compare program, similar to the old dos "disk
compare" command. We have NERO 6 and use the verify upon burn but we need a method to compare
multiple CD or DVD copies with the original.
