I messed up computer by checking or unchecking something. was in run
password2 something and this window popped up with all these options one was
about other people using the computer. this morning i get 2 error messages,
and i had to log on-never had to before. one message asked for the
administrator's password- i have no clue where to find it, can't go back and
do the run under me because I am not in the administrator. the other error
message is about my start up changed and i need to click the startup tab and
choose normal- can't find it and can't do run misconfig to fix it because of
the 1st mess up with the administrator password.

In a nut shell how do i reset or find the administrator password?

Go to http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ . There you will find
zip files that will let you create boot floppy disks or bootable CDs
that will enable you to reset any system password on an NT class
operating system (XP is an NT class operating system).
