Navigation Pane and Favorites

I seem to have lost the ability to view my "favorites" in the navigation
pane. When I click the View>Navigation Pane> iI get no button or option to
put on the Favorites folder. When I left click a folder to put it into
"Favorites" nothing much happenbs.

Also, I am now seeing every folder in my mailbox - Inbox, RSS Feeds, Synch
Issues, etc. This is too much.

I tried the Run: outlook.exe /resetnavpane which did not help.

Any suggestions? This is Outlook 2007 working with a server at work.

I am embarassed to say that I have no clue where to find the *.xml file in my
profile. Where do I find my profile?

find and delete the *.xml file for your profile then run office diagnostics.

diagnostics.

Are you looking in the correct place? Is it minimized?

Thanks, that fixed it. How might I have wound up in the folder list instead
of the mail module? I didn't deliberately make that change. I'd like to
know so I can avoid doing it again.

Also, 2003 doesn't have the small icons at the bottom of your 2007 image.
Is there a way I can make them appear?

Do you have big bars across the width? If so, slide the bar down. If you
don't have any buttons, click the >> arrows then Add or Remove buttons.
