Favorite Folders in Outlook

Any items I put in favorite folders in Outlook disappear on logging off.
Also, when I use archive folders in the navigation pane, Favorite Folders
disappears altogether (it's not just minimised).

Anyone got any ideas?

It would assume a Navigation Pane corruption.
Reset it to default by starting Outlook with the /resetnavpane switch;
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /resetnavpane
