Navigation in Edit Mode

How do you go to a specific slide when you're creating/editing a huge PPT?
In Word, I just press F5 and type the number - why can't I do that in PPT?

In Slide Sorter View, double click on the slide you want to edit.........TD

You almost can.

F5 puts you in slideshow view
[number] ENTER takes you to slide [number]
ESC ends the slide show
