Name Resolution Problem

I have three computers - 2 WinXP, 1 Linux - on a home LAN behind a
firewall router.
Today two of them - 1 WinXP, 1 Linux - lost their ability to resolve
names. The third
(WinXP) computer still works fine.

-All three computers point to the same primary/secondary DNS servers.
-The two problem computers can ping anything by IP address, including
their
referenced DNS servers.
-The two problem computers cannot ping anything by name. But if the IP
adress of
a given name is entered they can ping it.
-The third computer is completely normal, can ping or access by name or
IP address,
browser access is fine, etc. This computer is hooked to the same
firewall router the
two problem computers are.

I'm baffled. Ideas appreciated.

Is the router (make and model please) the DHCP server? What changes did you
make to anything on the LAN, before this happened?

Start with "ipconfig /all" from both WinXP computers:

Linksys WRT 54G
I'm not using DHCP I'm using static private IP's, as in 192.168.0.X
*No* changes made to LAN before this happened.

If you are using DNS for local name resolution, explicitly Disable NetBT. If
you're using normal broadcast name resolution (normal on most small LANs),
Enable NetBT. Be consistent!

If that doesn't help, provide "ipconfig /all" for both WinXP computers.
