When attempting to visit a secure site on the Internet, a Security Alert box
appears. There are 2 green checkmarks claiming the security certificate is
from a trusted security authority and the security certificate has a valid
date. However there is a yellow caution sign stating the following, "The
name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name on
the site."
No matter how many times I click YES to proceed, the next browser screen
declares, "The page cannot be found".
I also looked into the event log and found an application error. Event ID =
1000. Description stated, "Faulting application iexplore.exe version
6.0.2800.1106, faulting module unknown. version 0.0.0.0, fault address
0x6801f193"
More info:
When I click "View Certificate" button, I can see the following messages:
"Security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust."
"This CA Rott certificate is not in the Trusted Root Certificate Authority
Store."
A message is displayed on IE's status line at the bottom. I missed the exact
wording but mentioned a popup window tried to open (but failed).
Can you suggest some steps I can take to troubleshoot the problem?
