Nagging link after uninstall

I uninstalled the 1394 and the programs
that went with it, and I removed the card.
Still, windows 2000 pro hangs for nearly
a minute during bootup and then, after
it finally comes up, it has the following
message:

"The drive or network connection that the shortcut
'Pinnacle Systems - miroFamily.lnk'
refers to is unavailabe. ..."

I deleted both adobe and pinnacle entries
in the register (current user and local machine),
and I deleted the startup link to pinnacle
in the startup folder under programs.
There is no network or modem in this machine.

What more can I do?

Also, when I try to use control panel/add-remove programs
and try to remove the pinnacle entry, control panel
says it is successful and then hangs (not responding),
and then pinnacle is still there!

Do I have to re-install windows to get everything
that was associated with the pinnacle 1394 card
removed from my newly installed win2000?

I think it is the cause of other mishaps also, like
interfering with keyboard transfers (sometimes it
takes several seconds to respond to a single keypress,
and this is a fresh install of win2k).

Help.

Natively you can; Start\Settings\Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Computer
Management(Local)\System Information\Software Environment\Startup
Programs|View|Advanced, then in the "Location" column, you'll find the path
to the "Startup" location either in the "Startup" directories or from the
registry's "Run" keys.

%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
%USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

You can delete the shortcuts that you no longer want to run.

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

You can delete the string value for the program you no longer want to run.

or copy msconfig from Windows XP
