Mysterious "Temp Internet Files"

Why, after deleting all my temporary internet files
during the routine disk cleanup process, does the
temporary internet files properties dialog box still show
another 45MB of files (in 250 files/13 folders) still on
my hard drive??
When I open both the hidden files/folders + protected
operating system files to see what's going on, none of
the reported 45MB of temporary internet files were
visible.
A search for other temporary internet files elsewhere on
my hard drive has yielded no results.
I need the 45MB of extra storage space.
What do you suggest ??
Thanx

START|RUN, type...

%temp%

<enter>

Click on "Locals~1..." if shown, or/then on Temporary Internet Files

Open the directory (folder), and note the Content.IE5 subdirectories

Delete them to the RECYCLE BIN

What explorer shows is the 'logical content' of Temp Internet files, as
held in its indexes. Probably this has got out of sync with the actual
content, leaving 'orphan files'

Note where the TIF is held - usually under C:\Documents and settings\you
but maybe elsewhere.

Boot, hitting F8 as BIOS info goes to black, and from the menu take
Safe Mode - Command Prompt only.

In that use the CD command to get to the folder - eg
CD \Documents and Settings\yourname\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files

And a DIR /A should show content.ie5 If you have Office installed
there may also be Content.mso and one for Front page and others. It may
be that these account for some of what you see, but aside from them,

CD Content.IE5
and then
DEL /A /S /Q *.*
