my yellow cartridge is contaminated!

how the heck did this happen? although i have recently refilled black, cyan
and magenta. i haven't touched the yellow cart at all, and yet the color in
the tank is dark and murky.

does anyone have an explanation of why the *only* cartridge i didn't refill
is contaminated!?
 
Please include what type of cartridge and for what printer you are using.
 
This is an original Canon Cartridge that has never been taken out of the
printhead since you installed it?

If yes..........maybe there is a fracture in the cartridge that allowed
algae to grow or some contaminant in. Other than that, The Enterprise beamed
Spocks blood sample to your cartridges.....
