my webcam

okay i just networked my computers together and they now share a printer, can
they share my webcam too? is that possible, was wondering if they can how do
i set it up? thanx in advance for any help! Jen

you could run a server program like www.homewatcher.com on the computer with
the usb cam
or the computer wih cam could run conf ... NetMeeting in auto answer.
There's several usb server programs that allow you could share cams across a
network, those two are pretty simple.

ty for the reply, i have another question now, hehe.
i am having one problem with my computers being networked, they sometimes
get disconnected when they both r using the connection, usually its when i am
playing an online game and then my husband gets on and plays his online game.
i am fine til he gets on then we get disconnected every so often, so i am
wondering is there a software program i can use to control the connection
like so it splits 50/50 between the two computers?
i will also mention that my husbands game is somewhat of a resource hog if u
ask me so can i fix this problem? i hope so. thanx in advance! u have been

how are things networked and connected to the web... through a router ?
If no router ... get one. Routers you would buy for a home will not do load
sharing.

yes my computers r networked thru a router, i ahve considered getting on that
allows the connection to be shared equally as i have seen them in store,
would this not be a good idea for me? the computer i am on now is the main
computer and my kids computer is connected to mine thru the router with an
ethernet cable. its cable internet by the way. it also seems to freeze on the
kids computer when i try to access my computers shared files. is this maybe
cuz the internet connection is being used evenly or is it cuz my kids
computer isnt as fast as mine. mine is a 3ghz and the kids is a 2ghz. my
computer is a pentium and the kids is celeron if that makes a diff, i dunnno.
its just annoying ya know? they r both xp home, i think thats it so thanx
again.
