In XP Professional SP2 I no longer see my personal folder in "My Computer". I
used to see both mine and the other user (Both are administrators) and now I
only see the shared folder and that of the other user.

When Logged in as the other user he sees his correctly but mine is not
visable here either.

The Folder still exists and contains correct data when located through the
c:/Documents and settings

May have happened through a failed update last night?

Hi Ramesh,

It completely threw me... I was surprised how effectively the answer could
be found in the newsgroup.
It seems like this happens a bit in XP??

Thanks for your time.

You're welcome, Julie.

I think this only happens in some OEM installations, not in retail builds. Here is an excerpt from the Microsoft Knowledgebase:

<quote>

This problem may occur if a computer is prepared by using an OEM Preinstallation Kit (OPK) tool, such as Sysprep.exe. With this type of computer preparation, the component revision number for the Ee4uinit.exe and Shell32.dll files for the user is not reset, and the user's locale is empty. Because of this, Explorer does not start Ie4uinit.exe or Regsvr32.exe.
