my taskbar is multiplying!

Hey, only been running XP for a few weeks (brand new comp). Over the past few
days more and more (empty) sections have been added to my taskbar, taking up
heaps of space. Then today, I find my taskbar has another new section, which
shows exactly the same programs as are already displayed in the first
section! I can't figure out how to get rid of this and delete/merge the extra
seperators. Anyone able to help?

thanks heaps joe, the download of "restore to xp default" from the Taskbar
Repair Tool Plus! page did the trick. Weird how you can download a tool to
restore default straight off the website, but not do the same action from the
repair tool program unless you buy the licenced version! thanks again.
