My task bar isn't working

Whenever I click on the start menu, my task bar freezes up and I can't click
on the start menu, minimized windows, or anything else on the task bar. I
have to restart my computer for me to be able to click on minimized windows
again, but the problem still happens whenever I click on the start menu.
I can't find any mention of this on the support website/forum, so I'd
greatly appreciate it if you can tell me what I can do about this. It's
becoming quite a nuisance.
