my surround doesnt work

i have a new pc with windows XP but my surround doesnt work, only the 2 front
speakers work. i really tried everything please help me !!!

Have you connected the speakers up properly?
 
Check your speaker setup.
Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio>Speaker Settings>Advanced button
click the down arrow and select your setup. Click Apply and OK.
