My speaker only plays through my mic port

My speaker line doesn't work through the in line port. It will only play if
I plug it into the microphone port. I want to use a mic but I can't hear the
recordings. What do I do?

Read your manual. Sound cards often make other ports speakers ports when using multi speaker setups.

I don't have a manuel....or I don't know where it is.....is there anything I
can do without it?

line in isnt a speaker port, its an input port. the speakers will not work
there, as there is not a signal being generated. and your speakers shouldnt
be working from your mic port either, as that is also an input port. sounds
like the ports are mislabled. do you have a line OUT port? have you tried
moving the speaker jack to different ports and checking them? same for the
mic?

They are speaker ports when you are using more than two speakers.

Q Line In jack. This Line In (light blue) jack connects a tape player or other audio sources. In 6-channel mode, the luncton of this jack becomes Bass! Center.

Line Out lack. This Line Out (lime) jack connects a headphone or a speaker. r 6-charvei mode, the function oI this jac4 becomes Front Speaker Out.

U Microphone lack. This Mic (pink) jact’ connects a microphone. In 6-ci

- mode, the function of this jack becomes Rear Speaker OuF

The (unchons of the Line Out Un and Mn,ophone jacks change when you select the 6-channel audio configuration as shown in the olIowing table:

Audio 2,4 or 6-channel configuration (Noto:WIn98SE supports 4-channel only)

that has to be a soundcard specific option. MY soundcard certainly doesnt do
that. and i doubt that many of them do. but im not a soundcard engineer, so i
may be wrong.
