My sound is echo-ing

Whenever there is sound on my computer, such as listening
to music (even the startup music) or playing a game, even
just pop up messages, the sound echos. I can't figure out
how to stop my computer from echoing. Anybody know why
this is happening?

Mute your microphone should solve the problem. Open

Volume Control, bottom righthand corner of screen,
click "Open Volume Control", click the "Mute" block.
