Echoing Sound

B

Brett

The other day I stared up my computer running windows xp
professional. When I trying playing a sound file, it
played but it echoed. But it just wasn't sound files it
is everything. Everything that comes out of my speakers
will echo. It doesn't matter if I'm playing a game,
listening to music, or the shutting down sound it echos.
So I was just wondering why my sound would be echoing and
if there is a way to fix it.

Sincerely,

Brett

They work just fine on another computer I tried them on.
And I also tried some new headphones I got and it echos
in the headphones as well so I don't think it is the
speakers.

Sincerely,

Brett

P.S. Still looking for some help

Probably none of the above..

Two other possibilities....

1) Sound cards from companies like Creative can add effects like Echo or
Reverb - check the settings.
2) It's possible the two bits of S/W are playing the sound at the same time.
If the delay through one program is slightly longer than that of the other
you hear an echo. Try looking at the applications/processes that are active
when you play music using Task manager.
