My remote site login password stopped auto-completing

When I first set up FP2003 to access my remote Unix server via FTP, my login
ID and password were memorised, and FP never asked me for them when
publishing from local to remote. Then for an unrelated reason I had to delete
all my memorised passwords in IE6, and now FP2003 is back to asking me for a
login and password every time I publish.

Although I've successfully re-set IE6 to memorise and autofill passwords
once again, I can't find a way to persuade FrontPage to use this feature.

Any help gratefully received.

Try deleting your network place for the site
Passwords used by FP are "stored" using IE
In IE use Tools > Internet Options > Security
Click on 'Trusted' and on 'Custom Level'
Make sure the selection at the bottom is set to:
'Automatic logon with current username and password' and click OK
Click on 'Sites' and add your site URL in the 'Add this Web Site to the Zone', and OK, OK
- note: you may have to unselect the option: Require server verification (https)... to add your site

Stefan,

This was very useful -- now I know where to go. But I'm afraid it hasn't
prevented the "Name and Password Required" dialog box from popping up. Every
time I try to connect to my FTP site, I'm still told "This operation requires
end-user permission." Only the "Name" box is pre-filled with my machine name.
Short of re-installing FrontPage (and perhaps IE?), do you think I'm likely
to find a solution if I keep working at this?
