HELP!!! FP2003 Password problems.

L

Lorri Birmingham

I am using FP2003, which was working fine publishing to my website.

Then, one day, it asked for my password and it will not authenticate me.

If I switch to FTP, I can upload okay s fine), but FP Extensions are broken.
I can also open FTP using a browser and that username/password combo.

If I switch to http to publish to fix estensions, then I can not upload at
all.

Thanks in advance for any help. I searched for previous reference to this
problem, but no help.

Thanks;

Lorri

They (GoDaddy) said nothing changed. We loaded extensions twice.

They blame this on Frontpage.

Since it is only Frontpage that has the problem, it seems they may be right.
I can FTP just fine, but FP Extentions are broken (forms). This is a MAJOR
problem for us.

Thanks for any help!

The FTP server and the HTTP server (that FrontPage uses) are two
different programs, and the userid and password on them need not be the
same, so just because FTP works does not mean your userid/password is
correct for the HTTP server (though it probably is - the lesson here is
FTP and HTTP are 2 different things and may use different credentials).

GoDaddy's response is typical for GoDaddy. Ask them to run a server
health check which should correct the permissions on the site. Merely
installing extensions may not do this.
