windows xp home user version.
I have a folder, under documents and settings/home, called
My Recent Documents. What is the purpose of this folder?
There are what seem to be both files and folders in this
folder. Is it safe to delete everything? What will change
if I do?

This folder contains shortcuts to recently opened files.
It is safe to delete its contents. It only contains
shortcuts, not the actual files.
