My Pictures Slideshow in WinXP causes large amount of network traf

Hi,

I discovered recently that if I change my screensaver to the Microsoft "My
Pictures Slideshow" and pick up a folder on the network, it generates large
amount of network traffic between two hosts as soon as the screensaver
starts. I have seen steady 500Kbps of traffic until the screensaver ends.

I then had a sniffer capturing the traffic and it turned out to be continual
SMB read and write requests for those photos..

Does anyone else notice this or is it something could be fixed?

I'd fix it by pointing the screen saver to a local folder or using a
different screen saver.
