I've been looking for a solution for my problem for some time now.

I uninstalled a program called lockfolder which functions to lock out
folders using a password. I used it to lock the My Pictures folder
from the prying eyes of my classmates. However, when I decided to
uninstall the program, it left the folder as a system folder/file,
opening Control panel everytime I click on the My Pictures Icon (which
was converted into a file icon). The name of the folder now has a CLSID
attached to it, which appears as

My pictures.{21ec2020-3aea-1069-a2dd-08002b30309d}¦

I want to restore the folder since all my vacation pictures are in
there. Please help me!

You could use system Restore Wizard.

System Restore is a component of Windows XP Professional that you can
use to restore your computer to a previous state, if a problem occurs,
without losing your personal data files (such as Microsoft Word
documents, browsing history, drawings, favorites, or e-mail). System
Restore monitors changes to the system and some application files, and
it automatically creates easily identified restore points. These restore
points allow you to revert the system to a previous time. They are
created daily and at the time of significant system events (such as when
an application or driver is installed). You can also create and name
your own restore points at any time.

Hope this helps
