My outlook closes automatically when I minimize it?

When I minimize my M/S Outlook, it automatically closes so that it does not
show up on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.

If I click the icon it automatically opens back up to the same place. It
just does not go to the bottom of the taskbar.

Sounds like you have Hide When Minimized enabled.

Start outlook.
In the tray down where the clock is, do you see the icon that looks like the
outlook icon? Right click on it.
Uncheck 'Hide When Minimized'

Or, alternatively, whenever you minimize outlook, just double click on the
outlook icon down near the clock. It's useful for saving up taskbar space.

I don't know what tray you are talking about. Outlook does not show a
clock.

Not Outlook. Windows.

Looking at the task bar from left to right, assuming it's at the bottom of
the screen, you likely have the Start button, then all the tasks that are
currently running and, all the way over on the right should be a clock which
a bunch of icons next to it? Yes? No?
