My numeric keyboard has stopped working

Since some time last year my numeric keyboard has stopped working properly.
With numlock off, all is OK
With numlock on, '+' or '5' or 'Del' produce a popup menu, 'Enter' works
normally, no other keys work at all.
It has been suggested to me that this is due to something in SP2, but how do
I get it working again.

Buy a new keyboard, or try cleaning the old one.
