My New LCD has Strange Lines

Hello,
I just got my LCD monitor Friday and on first power-up I noticed these
strange lines in the upper right hand corner of the screen. They look
like the vapor lines that one would see extending from an airplane in
a clear blue sky. They do not move. Some of them have a head at the
front of the line that would best be described in my anaolgy as the
plane itself.

They do not appear on all Black, all White, all Red, all Yellow,
etc... but any variant that includes blue is a problem. So does that
mean they are not Dead? Also since they do all of those other colors
correctly, that they are not Stuck?

I have tried both the VGA and the DVI inputs.

I can only test with CRTs, but they seem fine and the DVI/VGA thing
makes me rule out the video card.

Question: Is there a name for this? Tech Support thinks I'm
crazy...
Am I wrong about the Dead/Stuck thing? Are they actually Stuck?

Are you sure they are not visible at ALL on an all-white screen
or one of some primary other than blue? From the images, they
look like they may be a defect in the panel itself, possibly in the
glass, the backlight assembly, or one of the film layers.

Good thought, but no

I had some time to do more testing this evening
OK, shows o
ever
gradient, not just Blue

Does [b:5189484411][i:5189484411]not[/i:5189484411][/b:5189484411
show on any Primary Pure color, Blue included

Also, tested the monitor on another computer and it is the sam
effect

Still waiting to hear on whether I can RMA this for a replacement.
just wish it was something that I could read more about or explai
better

Any other guesses

Strange..
There are streakes in a circular type motion on the left hand side, i
you look to the center right you kinda get a cloud formation lookin
pattern abit like Cirrus high cloud which seems to be at an opposit
angle

Are these patterns stationary...? The patterns to the right could b
put down to mild interferance from something but those on the lef
are strange and appears to be something like a reflection, possibl
from the lamp housin

Do they alter with brightness and contrast. (not full up by an
chance)

Best bet since the unit is new is to return it, if it helps send the
a snap of the effect
