Running lcd at non native resolution!

Just purchased a 19 lcd monitor, scpetre komodo II
I had been using trinitron flat screen crts, so I was
sceptical that lcd could match the trinitrons.

I am usinng ati rosewill 9200 dvi output to lcd.

I am running at non native resolution 1024x768, the results
are stunning. No noticeable difference compared to native res.
Text very sharp.

At 1280x1024 I found the text to be a little small, I had to wear
my reading glasses. I tried fiddling with the windows dpi (xp),
but was unsatisfied with the results.

It's unfortunate that practically all 17 and 19 lcd monitors
are 5:4 aspect ratio (1280x1024). Hence at other resolutions (4:3),
you have a ~6% vertical stretch at full screen. For the most
part hardly noticeable.

I have been trying the Hyundai ImageQuest 19 inch L90D+ and gaming at
1024x768 has also been nice and fine.
